Cristina Giai-Coletti is a Clinical Psychologist with over 17 years’ extensive experience in the assessment, understanding and treatment of mental health challenges.  This includes experience working with people from varied societal backgrounds and in varying contexts.  Cristina has worked as a Clinical Psychologist in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia, in both the private and public healthcare sectors.

She is professionally trained and has experience in the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR Therapy), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-integrated CBT, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).  Cristina also has training and experience in the delivery of Circle of Security® Parenting™ (CoS-P).

Cristina has a particular interest in trauma, including PTSD, Complex PTSD and Dissociative Disorders, as well as grief and loss.  She also works extensively with depression, anxiety and stress (including phobias and panic), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), parenting / attachment, life transition and adjustment challenges, and low self-esteem.  She has worked with parents, children, adolescents and adults.

She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and of the EMDR Association of Australia.  She is also listed with the EMDR International Association.

Cristina is passionate about the potential of each human being to access the resources and possibilities within and around themselves, so that they can better meet the challenges and opportunities of everyday life.  She sees a large part of this as the person encompassing an understanding of their own mental health and potential, and becoming their own agents of change - a change which she facilitates using approaches that have been validated and recognised internationally.
